Early Years Foundation Stage – Big Bedtime Read

The Reception children showed good resilience by coming back to School on a dark, wet evening to the Big Bedtime Read. It was lovely to see them all cuddling up in their PJs with their special toys and special grown-ups enjoying a lovely read! The children were greeted by a warming fire, milkshakes, and cookies. They sat on mats in Oak Class to share storybooks with their families. They all listened carefully to Mrs Fullam talk about reading and were excellent at demonstrating how to use some of our Phonics skills learned so far! Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope parents found the session helpful.

Year 3 Stone Age to Iron Age Workshop

Look at our Stone Age children! Beech Class certainly embraced travelling back in time! Dan Shadrake visit from Portals to the Past joined us and helped to bring to life the children’s learning from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.  Most of the children chose to dress up and what wonderful costumes we saw, spanning many thousands of years!  The children got to complete challenges, did a quiz and handle some very old and impressive artefacts!  Dan was so impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm and the children were equally impressed by his appearances in the Horrible Histories TV series!  A wonderful day was had by all!

Share Sessions November has seen 3 separate Share activities across our school EYFS Share

This half term lots of Nursery and Reception parents, carers and grandparents came into the classrooms to work with their children to make Christmas Decorations. Lots of glitter was spread by all, with some festive cheer and christmassy music. You can see by the photos how much fun the children (and parents) had! The Christmas decorations will be proudly hung on our Tree at the Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival.

Year 3 Share Session

It was lovely to welcome Year 3 family members to join the children to help create the beautiful Bethlehem skyline decorations for the Christmas tree festival. Bosmere’s Christmas trees will look splendid with these and the other decorations made by children from across the school. The children and their visitors clearly enjoyed themselves-especially the Christmas music!

KS1 Puppet SHARE

KS1 ran away with the Gingerbread Man and designed some marvellous puppets that family members joined them create. It was such a busy event with so many different versions of the gingerbread man (or lady…or pig…or cat…) being created.
