Very busy end of the year for Northgate and associated Karate Clubs. Started with the last of the year a black Belt grading. Well done to Lauren and Lilly but this is not the end of good news in the club! Lilly who has worked so hard, after a three month trial is now officially on the English Karate National Squad!

Anyone who knows Lilly will know this has always been her dream. Several other students also successfully graded to their next level of belt rank, the standard of the new students that have begun their journey with the karate club was exemplary.

Now with new energy and ideas after a short Xmas break, we are all ready to train and achieve our goals. From January/February 2024 we are going to start another beginner session from four years old at Gorseland School, Kesgrave.

Spaces filling quickly so be quick, go to our website:, and book a trial session. Now is a great time for starting some new habits, like taking up a sport to improve your health and wellbeing.

Karate is an excellent option as it has so many elements that make a well-rounded sportsperson. You can work on your strength, flexibility, and endurance through bouts of high-intensity training.

Our Karate sessions are available throughout the week at a number of different venues in Ipswich, Kesgrave, and Claydon. Our Claydon branch is getting busy, book your free trial to avoid disappointment, there are not many places left!

Please look at the club website or Facebook page for further information on times and locations. If you need more information, send us an emai: or just turn up to one of our sessions and give karate a go, 1st trial session is free.
